As part of my test shooting and photographic development I have undertaken some charity work to allow me access into various organisations. One charity who I worked with on my project is Mission Motorsport, An ex-forces engagement charity who rehabilitate ex forces men and women. When I met James Cameron the director of Mission Motorsport in November 2017 we spoke about the need for publishable headshots and staff imagery for uses in their social media and press releases. I offered my services and said I would be in touch when I have the time to arrange a shoot day where I can come in and do some team images. In mid-January I sent an email to James to see if he was still interested in collaborating on some images which he was still very keen about. We arranged a date and left it at that. A few weeks later I was had the Mission Motorsport HQ and set up a two-light studio in the middle of their main workshop.
Utilising the interesting environment of their workshop I thought it would capture the organisation as organically as possible. I used a 150cm Octabox to use a key light and then paired this with a strip box to use a hair light. I used this light set up as I wanted to slightly underexpose the background to make the sitter stand out slightly from the busy background. I was very happy with the shots which I took of a few team members at the HQ in Wantage.
